Production Problems It Solves

Repeated spillage from a damaged belt

Restore a continuous carrying surface where cuts, worn edges or damaged joints prevent reliable transport.

Belt wear shortening operating intervals

Match cover resistance and belt construction to impact, abrasion and the conveyor tension.

Where It Fits in Your Plant

Sand and aggregate conveyors

Carry abrasive bulk material with a cover and carcass suited to the loading zone, trough and pulley arrangement.

General bulk handling repairs

Replace existing belting while checking width, strength, splice and pulley compatibility. Heat, oil and food-contact duties require their own specified belt grade; black rubber alone does not identify suitability.

How the Rubber Conveyor Belting Works

The rubber covers protect a reinforcing carcass while the complete belt transmits tension around the conveyor. Cover thickness, reinforcement and splice construction affect service life and compatibility.

Selection Factors

  • Carcass: tensile rating and reinforcement must suit the conveyor tension and pulley arrangement.
  • Cover: abrasion, temperature, oil exposure and impact require different cover properties.
  • Splice: construction and thickness must pass around the installed pulleys and cleaning equipment.

Material & Process Compatibility

Aggregate

Material form
Loose abrasive particles
Typical application
Support bulk transfer on a belt conveyor
Handling considerations
Choose cover wear resistance and impact support

Grain

Material form
Dry grains
Typical application
Support grain transfer along a belt route
Handling considerations
Contact suitability and cleaning

Packaged goods

Material form
Bags or cartons
Typical application
Support unit loads on a conveyor
Handling considerations
Match surface grip and load support

Common Issues & Checks

  • Edge wear: inspect tracking, loading position and contact with fixed structures.
  • Cover cuts or gouges: inspect trapped material, transfer impact and sharp obstructions before fitting replacement belting.

Why Does a Conveyor Belt Slip

A moving drive with an underperforming belt can indicate slip at the drive pulley, but poor throughput may also result from overloading, a blocked discharge or material rollback.

Frequently asked questions

Why does pulley diameter matter when replacing belting?

Reinforcement, belt thickness and splice construction affect how the belt bends around pulleys. Matching width alone does not establish compatibility.
