Pulverizing Equipment

Wood Grinder

Reduce clean wood pieces and residues with a wood grinder to prepare a more manageable feed for the next biomass or material-processing stage.

Production Problems It Solves

Bulky wood residue difficult to handle

Cutting and grinding reduce piece size for onward conveying and storage.

Uneven feed entering a later process

A defined feed opening and discharge arrangement limit the range of material entering and leaving the grinder.

Where It Fits in Your Plant

Wood-processing residues

Reduce suitable clean offcuts and chips before further size classification or biomass preparation.

Biomass feed preparation

Process wood within the machine inlet and tool limits before the next stage. Metal, stone and unsuitable treated wood must be excluded; the grinder does not dry wet wood or produce finished pellets by itself.

How the Wood Grinder Works

A rotating cutting or grinding assembly reduces wood pieces and releases the product through the discharge. Tool geometry, incoming piece dimensions and moisture influence the resulting particle form. Extraction collects dust generated during reduction.

Selection Factors

  • Feed opening: incoming piece dimensions must fit the inlet and the specified feeding mechanism.
  • Moisture: wet and dry wood differ in cutting behavior, buildup and dust production.
  • Foreign objects: metal and stone can damage cutting tools and must be removed from the feed.

Suitable Materials for Crushing

Wood offcuts

Material form
Clean dry wood pieces
Typical application
Reduce feed size for reuse or processing
Handling considerations
Maximum feed dimensions and absence of metal

Wood chips

Material form
Clean chipped wood
Typical application
Reduce chips to a smaller fraction
Handling considerations
Moisture, target size and dust extraction

Sawdust agglomerates

Material form
Dry loose wood material
Typical application
Break larger soft pieces before further processing
Handling considerations
Moisture and whether grinding is necessary

Common Issues & Checks

  • Uneven particle size: inspect tool wear, discharge condition and changes in feed dimensions.
  • Blocked discharge: isolate the machine before clearing buildup or inspecting extraction components.

Operating Precautions

Metal, stone and other foreign objects can damage the tools.
