Production Problems It Solves

Mixed particle sizes

Separate a continuous feed into usable grades, with fines and oversize leaving through different outlets instead of contaminating the finished fraction.

Unnecessary recirculation

Return only the rejected size fraction to crushing or granulation; keep correctly sized material out of the rework stream.

Where It Fits in Your Plant

Dry sand preparation

Place the screen after drying or crushing and before graded storage. Separate sand fractions for dry mortar or mineral processing; wet, sticky feed needs a different preparation step.

Granule finishing

Screen cooled fertilizer granules or plastic pellets before bagging to remove fines and oversized pieces. The aperture determines the size split, not chemical purity.

How the Linear Vibrating Screen Works

Two counter-rotating vibratory drives produce a resultant force along the selected throw direction. Particles lift from the deck, move forward and repeatedly encounter the apertures. Smaller particles pass through; retained particles continue to the end outlet. Multiple decks can create several fractions, but each additional deck introduces a separate loading and discharge constraint.

Selection Factors

  • Cut size: mesh aperture sets the separation opening; deck count follows the number of required fractions.
  • Feed distribution: use the full deck width. A deep central pile leaves much of the mesh unused.
  • Fine cuts: moisture and particles close to the aperture can limit passage even when the nominal deck area is large.

Common Issues & Checks

  • Oversize in the fines outlet: inspect torn mesh, loose tension and gaps at the frame seal after isolating the machine.
  • Low passage with an intact mesh: inspect blocked openings and excessive bed depth before increasing the drive setting.

Operating Precautions

Inspect tension, seals and drive rotation using the approved shutdown procedure.

Useful answers

Frequently asked questions

Can a finer mesh be fitted without changing capacity?

A finer aperture changes the open area and the passage probability. Recheck feed rate and near-size content rather than retaining the original capacity assumption.

Why must the two drives be checked together?

Their rotation and mounting determine the resultant throw. An incorrect arrangement can disturb transport and overload the structure.
